About Us

A Church Created BY the Recovery Community
FOR the Recovery Community

• Our Story •

Founded in 2010, Recovery Church started with just a handful of men and women who wanted to give people an option to walk the journey of recovery with other Christ followers. The church has touched thousands of lives and now Recovery Church Movement has locations spreading across the country.

Recovery Church Nashville is a fellowship of people who desire to maintain their recovery while strengthening their relationship with Jesus Christ.

We believe in the redemptive power of Christ’s love and desire to walk alongside one another in our healing process. Recovery Church is a transparent, Christ-centered, non-judgmental body that offers support and encouragement. All are welcome.

• The Service •

We begin the service with contemporary worship music, followed by a sermon or testimony and then a 30-minute “open share” time in which people can share what is on their hearts in a small group setting.

The last Thursday of every month is Anniversary Night. It is a time in which we celebrate lengths of sobriety by handing out crosses as a tangible reminder of the changes we have made in our lives.

Jimmy Hagerman

Jimmy Hagerman

Searching for a buzz and adolescent acceptance, Jimmy began drinking alcohol, smoking pot, and taking pharmaceuticals. He resorted to theft, burglary, and eventually drug dealing as a means of bankrolling his habit. He cycled through federal and state probations, jail, boot camp, rehab, and court-ordered 12-step meetings. At the end of his rope and back in jail for trafficking in cocaine and heroin, a Bible verse learned long ago impressed itself vividly upon his mind, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” Resisting the urge to barter with God for a release, he surrendered himself fully, face down on a cold concrete floor, praying only for God’s will to be done. In that moment Jimmy began the process of dying to self and living life as God intended it. Moving on from the shambles of his life a decade and a half ago, the desire to study and obey God’s Word spurred him on to earn a degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, graduating with honors. Jimmy’s passion is to share the message of forgiveness and freedom in Jesus’ name to all those God allows him to meet. Jimmy and his beautiful wife, Hong, live in Nashville where they are raising up their two precious children to embrace life on God’s terms.
